Going south you'll come to Gaibù, Tamandaré, Maracaipe and the famous beaches of Porto de Galinhas.Going north you'll reach the beaches of Ponta de Pedras and Catuama and the enchanting island of Itamaracá with the ruins of Fort Orange – a fortress built around 1600 by the Dutch for fortification purposes. Today it's also the home of a station concerned with the protection of the endagered Manatees. The island of Coroa de Avião situated nearby is also worth a visit!
